FAQ.
Is it really as secure as straps?
Yes. Burton measured retention force in the lab and matched it to a properly tightened strap binding. The lock engages at three points — two heel cleats and one toe cleat. Step On has been ridden through park, powder and full-mountain since 2017, including by Burton's pro team. If a strap can do it, Step On can do it.
What if I already have bindings?
Step On boots only work with Step On bindings — the cleats and the receivers are two halves of the same lock. Standard Burton bindings (Cartel, Genesis, Malavita) won't accept Step On boots. The boots aren't a swap-in for an existing setup; the system is the boot and the binding together.
Are they any good for park or advanced riders?
Yes. The Step On X is built for charging and is what most of Burton's pro team rides. For all-mountain, jumps, side-hits and most park laps, performance is indistinguishable from straps. If you're filming double-corks for an Olympic part, you might want strap micro-adjustment. Most riders never will.
What size am I in AU?
Burton uses Mondopoint sizing — your foot length in centimetres. Most AU men's 9 = Mondo 27 = Burton 9. The size chart above is the source of truth. Between sizes, go down for a tighter ride feel, up for a more relaxed fit. Or drive to Vineyard and we'll fit you.

Burton's standard 1-year manufacturer warranty on bindings and boots. We handle warranty claims in-store at Vineyard — you don't post anything overseas, you don't wait on a US call centre.
