A good fitting pair of snowboard boots can make or break your day. If your boots are too loose, you will have difficulty transferring your movements into your snowboard, making for an unresponsive and potentially dangerous ride. If your boots are too tight or not the correct shape for your foot, you're in for a long, painful day. TROJAN WSS have rounded up the 2021 Burton snowboard boots we are offering to help you avoid these mistakes. We will give you a rundown of both the Burton men's snowboard boots and women's snowboard boots we are offering for the 2021 season.
Burton makes a range of boots coming in at various price points and for different riding styles. However, you can rest easy knowing that all burton boots are made with quality materials and manufacturing techniques. So standard features you will find across the 2021 Burton snowboard boot range include
Starting things off is the budget-friendly Burton Moto Boot. The Moto is a great boot for the beginner to intermediate rider looking for a flexible boot on a budget. This year Trojan is stocking the traditional lace and the single BOA® versions. Standard features to both boots is a broader toe box for a comfortable fit out of the box. Imprint 1 lines with integrated lacing for increased comfort and a supportive footbed with arch support allowing for circulation and warmth. The BOA® version comes with a single coiler allowing for faster lacing and a secure fit.
A step up from the Moto, the Burton Ruler features a better rubber outsole, Imprint 2 liner, Dual-Zone BOA® Fit System. The Ruler offers excellent value for an intermediate to advanced rider looking for an all-mountain boot. On all Imprint 2 liners and above, the inner laces have been moved to the boot shell, meaning you will get better heel hold as the internal cuff can pull your heel into the boot. Also, you get the Dual-Zone BOA® Fit System allowing independent lacing zones for a customisable fit. Also available in a wide version for those with wider feet.
A step up in construction and features compared to the Ruler, the Burton Swath boot is a super lightweight, soft to medium flexing boot, making it an ideal freestyle boot for the intermediate to advanced rider. The Imprint 3 liner has a hook-and-loop closure system with an inner lace lock for a snug fit and lightweight power panels for added response. You can velcro in J-bars for a more customised fit around the heel, further reducing heel lift. Also, the liner has additional moister wicking material transporting sweat and water away from your skin for better temperature regulation. Also, the footbed sees an improvement with better heel and arch support. You will see an articulated cuff on the boot's exterior, allowing for a natural flex at the ankle and tweaking out tricks. The shell is made from an Ultraweave shell material reducing the weight and increasing durability.
The Photon is ideal for an all-mountain rider or freerider looking for a responsive, durable boot. Starting with an Imprint 3 liner similar to the Swath (see above), the Photo steps up the durability with the Vibram® Ecostep rubber outsole giving you the legendary grip you've come to expect from Vibram®. The durable sole Vibram® makes this an ideal choice for someone hiking for their lines and earning their turns. Additional damping is provided in the form of the B3 gel cushioning. The Dual-Zone BOA® Fit System cranks things up with lockdown lacing (the BOA® cable extends around the heel's rear) to eliminate heel lift and for more response.
The Burton Ion is a stiff boot build for charging, and it suits the advanced to expert riding unwilling to compromise on response and precision. The improved Life Liner uses the highest quality materials available, and the total comfort construction makes for a comfortable fit out of the box. For more comfort, the AutoCANT sole with a softer material on the inner side of your foot allows for a natural and relaxed position. This is a feature-packed binding. If you need this binding, you probably already know about it. The Ion is definitely for the advanced riders.
The women's specific Burton Mint BOA® boot is soft and forgiving, making it ideal for the beginner to intermediate rider. This budget-friendly boot has a single BOA® closure system for simplicity, and the Coiler™ Technology automatically recoils the lace for tangle-free lace management. It comes with the Imprint 1+ with inner lacing integrated onto the liner for heel hold and comfort. We have already mentioned Burtons Sleeping bag reflective foil technology, but it is worth mentioning here. All burton boots have a reflective foil underfoot to reflect your body heat back into the boat, making Burton boots ideal for the rider that feels the cold.
A step up from the Mint, the Burton Limelight Boa® Snowboard Boot is a great around boot for a rider at any level. This medium flexing boot provides enough flex for tweaking out your tricks whilst being stiff enough to handle just about any board out there. The Imprint 2 liner moves the inner lacing system from the liner to the boot's inner shell - creating more heel hold, locking the rider in for a more responsive ride. The Limelight features a Sequence BOA® Fit System. The one dial system controls two independent lacing zones for a customisable fit.
The Burton Ritual LTD is a super lightweight, flexible boot, making it an ideal choice for the intermediate to advanced park freestyle rider or someone who prefers a softer feel. The articulated cuff makes the boot ideal for tweaking out your grabs, and the Ultraweave construction makes this boot light and durable. The Ritual LTD steps things up wit the Imprint 3 liner, which has an improved lace cuff and the option to velcro in J-bars for a customised fit - making this ideal if you have a narrower heel. The Dual-Zone BOA® Fit System means you will have the most control possible when it comes to customising the fit, and you have complete control over the upper and lower lacing zones of the boot. The extra damping in the sole improves impact protection and makes for a more comfortable ride.
Rounding out our women's boots for 2021 is the Burton Felix Boa® Snowboard Boot. This medium to stiffer flexing boot will be ideal for the all-mountain and freeride snowboarders out there looking for a more responsive boot. The boot has the same Imprint 3 liner, and Dual-Zone BOA® Fit System mentioned above for the same level of control, custom fit and comfort. However, the lacing system ramps things up with lockdown lacing (the BOA® cable extends around the rear of the heel) to eliminate heel lift and for more response when riding.
If you haven't heard about the Burton Step On boot and Burton step on binding system, we highly recommend you check out our Burton Step On Bindings 2021 blog And our Burton Step On Review for the latest scoop.
