How To Measure:
1. Chest
Measure the total circumference of your chest at its fullest point, just under your armpit.
2. Waist
Place your hands on your hips and bend to the side. The indent on your side as you bend is your natural waist. Measure the total circumference at this point.
3. Waist - Jeans
Measure your circumference at a point about two inches below the belly button.
4. Hip
Stand with your feet 6" apart. Measure the total circumference at the fullest point of your hip.
5. Sleeve Length
With your elbow slightly bent, starting at your middle neck bone, measure to the point of your shoulder and down to your wrist bone. Or take a shirt that fits well and take the same measurement.
6. Inseam
Stand with your feet 6" apart. Measure from the top of the leg/crotch to below the ankle. Or take a pair of pants that fit well and take the same measurement.

How to use The North Face size chart
The North Face size chart above is based on body measurements in centimetres, not garment measurements — so measure yourself, not a jacket you own. Follow the how-to-measure steps just above, then pick the size whose range your numbers land in. Between sizes? That comes down to fit and layering — covered below.
Do North Face jackets run big or small?
True to size for most blokes. The standard fit already has layering room built in, so order your usual size rather than going up just in case. Measuring at the very top of a chest range? Take the next size; otherwise stay put.
Should I size up for layering?
Usually not. A standard-fit shell or insulated jacket takes a thermal and a light fleece at your normal size — plenty for most days at Perisher or Thredbo. Only size up to fit a thick midlayer under a non-insulated shell on the coldest August mornings.
Regular fit vs slim fit
Regular (standard) fit leaves room to move and layer. Slim fit sits closer through the chest and arms and suits a baselayer only — for slim fit over a midlayer, go up one size. Pants: match your waist first, then pick the short, regular or long inseam.
