The Equalizer

Description:

The 2022 Capita Equalizer is an all mountain snowboard that has a background in the streets and a passion for freeriding. The pro model of Capita rider Jess Kimura, this board has evolved to meet Jess' changing demands from street riding to backcountry, shifting her sights more towards riding natural terrain and getting to the roots of snowboarding. Never one to limit herself to one specific style, Jess has helped design this board to be suitable for all types of riding, from the backcountry to the park, with maximum performance everywhere in resort. It's only fitting that one of the most versatile and decorated snowboarders in the industry has the board to match, so the Equalizer has the goal to be the best womens board available for the women who want to ride everything, and ride it well.

Board Type: All Mountain

Camber Type: Alpine V1 Profile

Positive camber through most of the board for a stable and poppy ride, with a reverse camber nose and flat tail for effortless float in deep snow.

Flex: 5.5/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Stiff enough to plow through the powder and hold a strong edge, but soft enough to be forgiving when you need it.

Shape: Blended Radial / Directional

Built specifically for directional all mountain charging, this board has a radial side cut with tailored blend zones at the contact points. The nose and tail actually have the same width, but the nose extends into a point whereas the tail is blunt, giving you a longer nose that floats in powder and a shorter tail that sinks. Despite this, it still rides switch on the groomers with ease.

Core: P2 Superlight Core

Built for highly technical freestyle riding all over the mountain, the P2 Superlight Core is designed to be extremely durable with maximum pop.

Technora + Flax Boosters - 2 x 30mm strips of sustainable Flax fibres woven with Technora help absorb shocks while increasing power and response.

HolySheet Fibreglass + Magic Bean Resin - HolySheet glass has a higher glass to weight ratio than normal fibreglass, giving you more stiffness with lower weight than a traditional layup. This is impregnated with a high performance, environmentally responsible, plant based resin that provides a powerful and dynamic ride that's better for the planet.

Base: Quantum Drive Base

Harder, faster and stronger than their normal sintered base, this base will keep you zooming

Features:

  • Multitech level 4 DeepSpace silkscreen + PAM 16000 topsheet with metallic underlay
  • Multitech sublimation + die-cut base
  • PLT topsheet technology
  • 360 degree HRC48 steel edges
  • Full ABS1000 sidewalls
  • Stainless steel 4x2 inserts

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Waxing:
Waxing your snowboard is essential. It will keep you moving faster (which is essential on those flat bits or cat tracks) and will prevent your board from drying out, thus extending its life. Waxing isn’t a one-and-she’s-done kind of thing—you’ll need to give your board a good hot wax from time to time. Exactly how often will depend on how much you ride it, but a sure sign that it’s due for a wax is if the base starts to look a little white and you feel like you’re going slower than usual on flat bits. Snowboards typically come with a “factory wax", meaning a wax that was applied in the warehouse when it was made. You can ride the board immediately with the factory wax, but most snowboarders agree that it’s way better to give the board a proper hot wax before you take it out on the snow. Before putting your board away for the final time of the season, be sure to have a storage wax applied to your snowboard.
Sharpen Your Board as Needed
Snowboards can be sharpened at a snowboard shop with a sharpening machine, or with a whetstone and file
Snowboard Bags:
Use a snowboard bag to transport you board around while preventing any potential damage to your board, boots, and bindings.
Boots and bindings:
Before riding, ensure your bindings are attached to your board firmly to prevent any damage at the contact points.
Obstacles:
Exposed rocks and other hard, jagged surfaces are your snowboard’s worst enemy. Ride with care, especially early and late in the season when the coverage isn’t at its best.
Repairs:
If there are any minor gashes on your board, a fresh wax and buff and you should be fine, however any major defects with the board should be repaired or replaced prior to using.
Putting Away:
At the end of each and every day on the mountain, be sure to carefully wipe off any snow that’s stuck to your board. Don’t forget the crevices around the bindings; leaving excess moisture can cause metal parts to rust. At the end of the season, give your board a solid wipe down (especially if it’s covered in spring riding muck), dry it off thoroughly, and melt on a thick layer of wax—which you can scrape off at the start of next season. Store your board in a dry, cool place where it won’t get knocked around.
