PRODUCT DETAILS

Bataleon Evil Twin

The 2024 Bataleon Evil Twin snowboard is one of the most popular models at Melbourne Snowboard Centre year after year. It's true twin shape, versatile mid flex and medium camber allows it to constantly deliver all over the mountain, whilst it's poppy performance, catch-free 3BT shape and carbon stringers provide unrivalled response in the park and off-piste. Not only does it look great on the shelf, but it feels right at home on groomers, in powder, lapping the park and anywhere else you want to dabble, both in regular or switch. The Evil Twin is your go-to when you want to go everywhere.

Features:

  • Twin 3BT - A cambered profile gives great performance in the park and all over the mountain with a reasonably wide centre for stability on rails & medium uplift side bases to create a catch free ride on groomers & improved float in powder.
  • Ultra Light Core - 70-30 Swiss paulownia and poplar wood blend for an unparalleled strength to weight ratio
  • Hyper Glide S - A tough fast sintered base that performs well in all conditions with high wax retention between services.
  • Tri Axial Laminates - Tri-ax laminates laid above & below the core deliver precision to your riding & loads of snap in the board.
  • FlipFlop Base - Die-cut bases are like a jigsaw. FlipFlop minimizes waste by using two or more color options for each piece. That means more unique graphics and less environmental harm.
  • Carbon Stringers Extra Layup - Carbon stringers are inserted either side of each of the bindings helping to reduce weight, whilst acting as powerful pop booster bars for those ollies & nollies
  • Central Super Tubes - one hollow carbon rod down the centre of the core, adding pop without increasing torsional stiffness.
  • Side Kick Tips - Increases sidebase lift for smoother turns, float in powder, stability in all terrains enhancing 3BT advantages.

Construction

  • Layup & Laminate: Tri-Ax Lamination - Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.
  • Woodcore: Ultra Light Core - 70/30 Paulownia and poplar blend that offers awesome strength to weight.
  • Base: Hyper Glide S - Our standard sintered base that’s durable and fast – and even faster when you keep it waxed.
  • Sidewalls: Shock Walls Sidewall - This is our Urethane infused sidewall technology. ShockWalls smooth out your ride and are more resistant to impact.
  • Special Sauce: C.S.T. Super Tubes - Central Super Tube, a single Super Tube down the middle of the board enhances pop without stiffening the board torsionally. Great for jibbing.
  • Layup & Laminate: Carbon, Stringer - Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Technology

  • Triple Base Technology: At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.
  • Supertubes™: Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.
  • Sidekick™: SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Waxing:
Waxing your snowboard is essential. It will keep you moving faster (which is essential on those flat bits or cat tracks) and will prevent your board from drying out, thus extending its life. Waxing isn’t a one-and-she’s-done kind of thing—you’ll need to give your board a good hot wax from time to time. Exactly how often will depend on how much you ride it, but a sure sign that it’s due for a wax is if the base starts to look a little white and you feel like you’re going slower than usual on flat bits. Snowboards typically come with a “factory wax", meaning a wax that was applied in the warehouse when it was made. You can ride the board immediately with the factory wax, but most snowboarders agree that it’s way better to give the board a proper hot wax before you take it out on the snow. Before putting your board away for the final time of the season, be sure to have a storage wax applied to your snowboard.
Sharpen Your Board as Needed
Snowboards can be sharpened at a snowboard shop with a sharpening machine, or with a whetstone and file
Snowboard Bags:
Use a snowboard bag to transport you board around while preventing any potential damage to your board, boots, and bindings.
Boots and bindings:
Before riding, ensure your bindings are attached to your board firmly to prevent any damage at the contact points.
Obstacles:
Exposed rocks and other hard, jagged surfaces are your snowboard’s worst enemy. Ride with care, especially early and late in the season when the coverage isn’t at its best.
Repairs:
If there are any minor gashes on your board, a fresh wax and buff and you should be fine, however any major defects with the board should be repaired or replaced prior to using.
Putting Away:
At the end of each and every day on the mountain, be sure to carefully wipe off any snow that’s stuck to your board. Don’t forget the crevices around the bindings; leaving excess moisture can cause metal parts to rust. At the end of the season, give your board a solid wipe down (especially if it’s covered in spring riding muck), dry it off thoroughly, and melt on a thick layer of wax—which you can scrape off at the start of next season. Store your board in a dry, cool place where it won’t get knocked around.
